Gynecological examination will determine whether there is any apparent gynecological problem. Physical examination can reveal useful findings including the presence of fibroids, signs of anemia, or coagulation disorders. At the same time a smear Pap test can be taken, if this test has not been performed recently. In women who have a loss of blood in the middle of their cycle or after intercourse, the cervix and the uterine cavity should be examined to rule out a pathology from these points.
