Bleeding During Pregnancy

Vaginal bleeding may occur at various times during pregnancy. While this is not always an indication of a problem, any bleeding during pregnancy must be investigated urgently. Heavy bleeding after the birth also warrants medical attention. The medical terms used are threatened miscarriage in early pregnancy, antepartum haemorrhage in late pregnancy and postpartum haemorrhage after the birth.
