What is Laparoscopy?

Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure which the surgeon, through a small ‘hole’ in the abdomen, uses a suitable instrument (laparoscope) to examine directly the organs of the pelvis and the abdomen and collects useful information. This examination is performed under general anesthesia.

It is also possible with the use of these suitable tools, to perform laparoscopic surgery that would otherwise require surgical incisions in the abdomen.
